The deceased has been identified as Om Pandey, the 22-year-old son of Kamlesh Pandey, a resident of the Arwal neighborhood in Ara city, Bhojpur district. On Saturday morning, locals spotted the body lying in the vacant plot and informed the Town Police. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and began their investigation.

During the preliminary investigation, police found deep injury marks on the back of the deceased's head and near his temple. Blood was flowing from his nose, and the body was found in a stiffened state. The youth was wearing jeans and a vest. A mobile phone was also recovered from his pocket, which the police have seized for investigation.

Meanwhile, two friends who had been searching for the youth arrived at the scene and identified the body as that of Om Pandey. The friends told the police that Om had been staying at their room in the Naya Bazar area of ​​Buxar. He had mentioned that he had come to Buxar to secure admission at a local college.

According to his friends, Om had expressed a desire to meet a young woman from the Shivpuri neighborhood on Friday evening. They had dropped him off near the woman's house and returned. When Om did not return to the room by late night and could not be contacted despite repeated calls, they began searching for him. On Saturday morning, they received the news that his body had been found.

Initial police investigations suggest the case might be linked to a romantic affair. It is suspected that the youth was murdered and his body was subsequently dumped in the vacant plot. However, the police state that the actual cause of death will only become clear after the post-mortem report and the investigation are completed.
